THINK OF A NEW WORD
In order to keep the amount of dogs in our home small, so they can have the absolutee best lives and stay here their entire lives, we need to look for other solutions. 50 years ago people would just have very big kennels, or warehouse dogs, that isn’t something I want to do.
Sending puppies to their forever home who is willing to keep them intact and let them be apart of the program enables me to make better breeding decisiuons, I can see how puppies grow up without keeping them here and THEN changing their entire life if they do not turn out. This way no matter what the dog is in their forever home.
How you can help a rare breed!
Keeping your male dog intact
WHAT IS THE BREEDER RESPONSIBLE FOR?
1.Provide guardian family with a healthy dog at no cost
2. Pay for health testing
3. Pay for all breeding related expenses (ie progesterone testing, semen collection, etc)
4. Teaching the guardian family how to detect a heat cycle and how to care for a pregnant dog if they don’t already know
5. Pay for the spay/neuter upon retirement
6. Pay a monetary sum per litter
7. Provide lifetime support for the dog
8. Always be willing to take the dog back if the guardian family can no longer care for them
WRITE ABOUT HOW THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM A DOODLE GUARDIAN HOME - and how you can tell if a guardian program is good or bad. Is the point to pump out dogs - or is it to grow out more dogs, how rigorous is the process to confiurm breeding canidate etc
